Meet Elizabeth

"I think it is important to be real in life and design while having a pragmatic approach to livability and function. I believe design should be honest, personal, a bit unexpected while conveying a true representation of a client's vision."

Elizabeth Stuart is an American designer lauded for her sophisticated, eclectic style, and her ability to bring unexpected beauty to each project. With a pragmatic approach emphasizing form and function in equal measure, Stuart has an innate talent for design and a fundamental understanding of how people want to live and work. These qualities have enabled her to create refined, yet highly personalized residential, commercial, and retail environments.

Since founding her eponymous Charleston-based design firm and retail store in 1996, Stuart's business has grown exponentially with the production of her first line currently underway, which will include lighting, upholstery, and jewelry, and the increasing portfolio of projects around the globe.

Stuart draws inspiration from her extensive travels, and also from the art and objects of beauty that she curates for her clients. Currently, Stuart and her team are working on residential, commercial and multi-family projects throughout the United States in San Francisco, CA; Austin, TX; Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Charleston and Kiawah Island, SC; and Atlanta, GA, as well as in London, Shanghai, Guadalajara and Madrid.

A leading authority within the design industry, Stuart has appeared in leading shelter and design magazines including Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, The Associated Press, Mansion Global, Southern Home, and more.

Elizabeth, affectionately known as Muffie to those close to her, is known for the creation of memorable experiences and indelible interiors. She is a mother to three children and will tell anyone that they are what she is most proud of and her favorite career. She loves the work she does and is ever-mindful of how design can have a profound effect, not just inspire us, but also have the transformative power to help us have better days and hopefully, better lives.
